A travel-oriented 10-song album, written, recorded, mixed and produced by Ben Wilson, the new album is a collection of fragile space-folk songs and instrumentals. Layered with looping pedal steel guitar, warm blankets of bass and brush sticks, windchime acoustic guitars and 60s-esque choir boyish vocals, the new LP is available from Antique Room.Under Orienteers’ former moniker [That’s the Spirit], since May 2009 the band showcased at Calgary’s Sled Island Festival, Toronto’s North by Northeast, Canadian Music Week and Pitter Patter Festival, and was chosen by Apostle of Hustle to open one of their CD release tour dates. They were featured on NPR’s uber-popular All Songs Considered podcast, and their song “Head for the Hills” was featured on Degrassi (CTV, MTV), syndicated in 130 countries.
